Speaking to a college coach can be nerve racking. Most high school kids, these days, are used to texting, DM’s, and the occasional email. So that initial phone call or zoom meeting with a coach can be a bit foreign for some. The best thing we can do when we know we will be thrown into a new or foreign situation, is be prepared.

So the staff at Before You Go Pro has compiled a few questions for you to have locked, loaded and ready, for whichever coach is eager to get on a phone call or zoom meeting with you. Remember. These conversations are about YOUR future. But let it be known, these calls are also job interviews. By preparing yourself with questions for Coach beforehand, you can put yourself in position to impress. If you have no questions for the Coach, you may be bypassed for a more engaged recruit. Asking the right questions can help you obtain as much information as possible, so that you can honestly evaluate and compare any and all details between the programs recruiting you. Keep in mind, you may have the opportunity to spend the next 4 to 5 years of your life at this particular school.

Please take a look at this list of questions that we’ve prepared for you. Keep in mind you don’t have to ask all of these questions and these also aren’t the only questions you could be asking.

Speak with your family and find out what’s most important to you and the people who will be supporting you. Ask questions that will give you the answers that are most important to you and your decision making process.

Good Luck!
